once upon a marigold

i read this book in a day - a superfun light read. once upon a marigold by jean ferris had all of the classic fairy tale elements - misunderstood princesses, trolls, scheming mothers, mistaken identities, curses - but thrown together in a new way that kept me turning pages. marigold, a princess cursed with the ability to read the thoughts of people she touches, is the last unmarried daughter of her invalid father and determined mother. christian ran away when he was just six years old and was raised by a troll named edric. marigold and christian cross paths and all that fairy tale magic happens, if somewhat predictably, as they head towards their happily ever after.
